Last year, I finally got my novel Tales and Treasure into “queryable” shape. It took almost three years and several beta readers, but I did it. I was proud of the manuscript.
I didn’t set out to write a bestseller. I just wrote a story I liked, the kind of story I wanted to read. If this is your first time on my page, it’s called Tales and Treasure, and it’s about a disgraced bard and a mysterious treasure hunter who team up to search for an ancient crown. So, the manuscript was finished, but I still needed to figure out what to do next. Do I do another round of editing? Do I self-publish? Or do I give traditional publishing the old college try? Months of editing didn’t seem appealing, and I thought if I was going to publish this book, I might as well try.
